About the Company

GuideStar Medical Devices is a small med-tech start-up based in Victoria, British Columbia. Our team is committed to delivering world-class solutions to real medical problems, transforming the way doctors use technology. This will be a 4-month co-op with our small, highly dynamic team.

We are seeking a highly motivated student with experience/knowledge in FDA or regulatory submissions and V&V testing of medical devices. Due to the entrepreneurial nature of our company, you will be given the opportunity to experience all aspects of medical device development from market research to first in human clinical trial planning.  Also due to our small, collaborative team, you will be exposed to all aspects of running and building a small business.

 

Responsibilities:

• Writing sections of the 510(k) FDA application.

• Coordinating with vendors and testing facilities.

• Writing test protocols and reports.

• Helping plan first in human clinical trial. Writing protocols, documenting results, coordinating with sites.

• Developing sales and communication material as required.

• Providing quality assurance on formatting and content.

• Maintaining quality management system.

• Surveying market opportunities, analyze and create market research reports.

 

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelors degree in a science or business program.

• Interested in the medical device industry, and preferably have experience in med-tech or bio-tech fields.

• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

• Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing situations and priorities.

• Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Experience writing technical documents.

• Demonstrate self-motivation and an ability to work independently.

• Comfortable and confident talking to clients or customers.
