GuideStar Attends 2024 AANA Annual Congress | August 12, 2024
Victoria, BC – GuideStar Medical Devices (GuideStar) employees Ryan Ruedebusch, Jocelyn Mackey, and Madison Miller attended the 2024 AANA Annual Congress in San Diego from August 3-5. The conference hosted more than 2500 CRNAs primarily from US facilities. A large volume of attendees visited our booth to learn about EpiZact and trial the device on our epidural simulator. Many visitors also returned with colleagues to share EpiZact's novel functionality of stopping the needle. There was considerable excitement toward the impact that EpiZact can have on improving patient safety.

VP Business Development, Ryan Ruedebusch said: "There was palpable buzz as CRNAs visited our booth this year at AANA. We believe EpiZact provides a compelling solution to increase patient safety as well as significant cost savings for the healthcare provider. We look forward to bringing more hospitals on board!"
There was interest from many facilities in pursuing clinical evaluation and adoption of EpiZact in their obstetric anesthesia departments. GuideStar plans to continue visiting new clinical sites across the US and expanding production to meet the increasing demand.

About EpiZact
Epidurals are performed to provide anesthesia to a patient, by means of injection of medication into the epidural space. Traditionally, epidurals are performed using the “loss of resistance” technique. EpiZact is the first device developed for epidurals that is designed to stop the forward motion of the needle upon sensing a loss of resistance, providing a tactile and visual signal to the user while simultaneously stopping the needle from further advancement, potentially reducing the incidence of accidental dural puncture.
