Victoria, BC – GuideStar Medical Devices exhibited EpiZact at the 2026 KyANA Fall Scientific Meeting, held September 18 to 20 at the Hyatt Regency Louisville. CEO and Founder Mike Dolphin was in the exhibit hall for the meeting, and attendees were able to train with EpiZact.

This year's meeting marked 70 years of the Kentucky Association of Nurse Anesthetists, under the theme "Bold Past. Bright Future. 70 Years of Impact." More than 250 CRNAs and nurse anesthesia residents from Kentucky and neighbouring states attended, and the association celebrated the anniversary with a reception at The Spire on Saturday evening. Kentucky has more than 1,200 CRNAs and four accredited nurse anesthesia programs, and KyANA has spent those seven decades on education, advocacy, and the protection of CRNA practice.

EpiZact is a single use, automated mechanical device for reliable epidural needle placement. It senses loss of resistance to injection and stops the needle, giving a tactile and visual signal at the moment the epidural space is reached. It is used with the clinician's existing loss of resistance technique rather than in place of it.

Cheryl Parker, DNP, CRNA, of Baptist Health Louisville uses EpiZact in practice. "I completely recommend EpiZact," said Parker. "I think it is an excellent tool for locating the epidural space and being able to quickly place an epidural and thread a catheter without complications."
