EpiZact
EPIDURAL DEVICE
Stops the needle.
Aims to improve patient safety.
Every year, over 500,000 patients suffer an injury from an accidental dural puncture during an epidural procedure. We aim to change that.
Epidural Injuries
Post dural puncture headache...
Occurs in up to 80% of patients who suffer an accidental dural puncture.
Is a severe, positional headache which requires the patient to lie down to alleviate symptoms.
Is often treated using a blood patch, which requires another epidural to be performed.
Can manifest as temporary (several days) or chronic (several years) headaches.

EpiZact Overview
When the needle tip enters the epidural space and loss of resistance is detected, EpiZact triggers and automatically stops the forward progress of the needle, aiding the clinician in correctly positioning the needle tip in the epidural space.
EpiZact aims to add a margin of safety that has never existed before. The device intends to reduce the chance of accidental dural puncture, improve patient satisfaction, and deliver cost savings for healthcare providers.
